National Merit Scholarships

Students enrolling in Northwestern College who are National Merit Semi-finalists are awarded a minimum of $12,500. Those Semi-finalists who become Finalists will have their award minimum increased to $15,000. National Merit Scholarship recipients are invited to participate in the annual Scholarship Day events to compete for the Norman Vincent Peale Scholarship.

These scholarships are renewable for up to four years, provided the student achieves a 2.75 cumulative GPA after his or her first year and a 3.0 cumulative GPA thereafter. The award requires notification from the National Merit Scholarship program.
