Art Scholarships

The Northwestern College art department offers a variety of scholarships to prospective students intending to major in art and to current NWC students who are art majors.

Art Department Scholarship

The Art Department Scholarship is a $1,500 competitive one-year scholarship available to an incoming freshman or transfer student. Applicants must show exceptional talent and intend to major in art at Northwestern College. To apply, download the application form and follow the instructions for submitting examples of your work by Feb. 1, 2013. Recipients of the Art Department Scholarship are eligible to be considered for the Art Merit Scholarship or other art scholarships after their first year at NWC.

Art Merit Scholarship

The Art Merit Scholarship is awarded annually to current Northwestern students majoring in art. Scholarship recipients and amounts are determined by the art faculty. Awardees are strong artists who represent the department well. No application is required.

Other art scholarships

Alumni and friends of Northwestern College have established a number of privately funded scholarships for current students majoring in art. These scholarships are competitive and require the submission of a portfolio.
