English graduates
Aleisa Schat ’07 and David Elder ’05 are writing & rhetoric graduate students at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. Both hold one of the program’s prestigious Radford Fellowships. Another recent Radford Fellowship recipient, Sarah Yoder ’02, earned her Ph.D. with honors from Texas Christian in 2008. She now teaches English at Westmont College in California.
Amy Commers ’06 is pursuing a master's degree in library science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Ariel Emery ’05, Northfield, Minn., won the 2006 Outstanding Young Journalist award from the South Dakota Newspaper Association for her writing and photography for two South Dakota newspapers. Currently she works for the Northfield News.
Rachel Kramer ’05 is teaching junior high language arts in Ripon Christian School in California.
Doug Van Zanten ’05 is a law student at the University of Iowa.
Jaylene DeVos ’04 teaches high school English in the Cherokee, Iowa, public school system. She also coaches speech and cross crountry.
Nick Driscoll ’04 is a teaching English at Baiko Gakuin school in Shimonoseki, Japan.
Jeannine Lovas ’04 is a creative writing graduate student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Jared Belden ’03 earned an M.F.A. degree in creative writing at Eastern Washington University. He is serving with the Peace Corps in Africa.
Sara Brands ’03, Eagan, Minn., is a technical writer/editor in the codes content department for Thomson West, a publisher of legal documents, new laws and pending legislation. She also is certified by the Minnesota Literacy Council and assists in teaching weekly adult education citizenship classes.
Sarah Taylor ’03 teaches 7th and 8th grade at Zuni Christian Mission School on the Zuni Reservation in New Mexico.
Joel Anderson ’02 earned an M.A. in American studies from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. He's currently enrolled in their M.F.A. program.
