Northwestern College is seeking qualified part-time faculty to teach online courses in the teacher education department for appointment on a term-by-term, as-needed basis. Online faculty will teach remotely through Northwestern College’s online learning platform, Blackboard. Online courses follow the traditional academic schedule--fall and spring courses are 16 weeks, and summer courses are 8 weeks in length.
Minimum requirements
· Minimum of a master’s degree, doctorate preferred, in early childhood or early childhood special education from a regionally accredited institution
· Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in an early childhood setting
· Superior written communication and interpersonal skills
· Experience with online learning; teaching experience preferred
· Adept with technology, including the Internet, learning management systems and Microsoft Office programs. Blackboard experience a plus.
· Must own a reliable portable computer with Internet connection
· Flexible schedule; must be willing to work with students outside of the traditional workday
· Highly self-directed

· Compile and deliver content for online asynchronous delivery
· Develop relevant learning activities and aligned assessments appropriate for online learning
· Engage students through active discussions and collaborative learning experiences
· Provide rich and timely feedback on student assessments
· Regularly interact with students outside of the traditional workday
· Facilitate academic, personal and spiritual growth
· Interact and collaborate with full-time NWC content-area faculty
