Student teaching
Most education students do their student teaching in schools within a 50-mile radius of campus, but many find student teaching assignments in their hometowns or urban communities such as Chicago, Minneapolis and Denver. Each year, several Northwestern students take advantage of the Chicago Semester, student teaching in Windy City schools and participating in a weekly seminar focused on issues facing teachers in an urban environment. Northwestern also has had recent student teachers in schools in Guatemala and Jamaica.
