Professor Heitritter, who earned a master’s degree in reading at the University of Sioux Falls, helps Northwestern students know how to assist children in this crucial skill area. She also has conducted research on what principals are looking for in new teachers. Before joining the NWC education department, Heitritter served as a language arts consultant for Area Education Agency Four and taught at public and Christian elementary schools.
