Counseling services staff

Northwestern’s therapists are committed to serving students with dignity, respect and confidentiality.

Dr. Sally Oakes Edman, director
M.A. and Ph.D. in counseling psychology, University of Notre Dame
Licensed as a clinical psychologist and independent health service provider in psychology

Dr. Edman previously directed another college counseling center, counseled at a family practice medical clinic in Decorah, Iowa, and operated a private practice in Forest City, Iowa. She also has served on the psychology faculty at Luther and Waldorf colleges.

Joan Andres, therapist
M.A. in marriage and family therapy, Reformed Theological Seminary
Iowa-licensed mental health counselor
Iowa-licensed marriage and family therapist

Andres has experience providing therapy for individual, couples and families in government, private and church-based counseling services both in the U.S. and abroad.

Natalie Sandbulte, therapist
M.A. in clinical psychology, Wheaton College
Psy.D. candidate, Wheaton College

Sandbulte is completing a Doctor of Psychology degree at Wheaton College and is also pursuing licensure as a clinical psychologist. A member of the psychology faculty at Dordt College, she has worked as a therapist in private practice settings in the Wheaton, Illinois, area.

Kimberly Wright, office manager
B.A. in psychology, Briar Cliff University

Wright joined the counseling services staff in 2006. She previously has worked with individuals with disabilities and was director of a daycare center.
