National internships
Many students take advantage of national programs that offer outstanding internship opportunities as well as classes that provide a Christian perspective on the marketplace:
The American Studies Program will give you an insider’s view of Washington, D.C. An interdisciplinary, issues-oriented program, it seeks to connect biblical faith with public life and vocation. Northwestern students in this program have interned with the Heritage Foundation, Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia, the Holocaust Museum and Sen. Sam Brownback.
The Chicago Semester will help you develop Christian social values, understand the city and its culture, and strengthen your career goals. Northwestern students in this program have interned at the Art Institute of Chicago, Adler Planetarium, Bank of America, Chicago Coalition for the Homeless, Child’s Play Touring Theatre, Cook County Adult Probation, Feldman Securities Group, Field Museum of Natural History, InterVarsity Press, Masterplan Group International, Northwestern Memorial Hospital and YWCA of Metropolitan Chicago.
The Los Angeles Film Studies Center integrates a Christian worldview with an introductory exploration of the work and workings of mainstream Hollywood entertainment. You’ll network with professionals in the film industry during your internship, while taking classes that provide both theory and practice. Recent Northwestern students in this program have interned at the House of Representatives talent agency in Beverly Hills and Greystone, a production company for TV documentaries.
