"For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11
Invest in college. Succeed in life. Those are some of our goals for you as a Northwestern student, and that's why you're invited to participate in Futures, a program for first- and second-year students with Latino, African American, Native American, Asian or mixed racial heritage. Futures offers you:
A pre-orientation retreat before the school year starts where you can start building relationships with other students who are making the Northwestern College journey with you.
Workshops where you'll be offered practical advice for succeeding socially, academically and spiritually in college (topics include time management, study skills, career planning, college budgeting, and campus involvement and leadership)
Meaningful relationships with peer and faculty mentors as well as a local host family.
The opportunity to be involved in campus life and make your unique contribution to a vibrant, diverse campus culture.
A vision for your future that inspires you to use your time in college as preparation for both a fulfilling career and a faithful life.
In addition, Futures participation offers you a chance to attend the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity and may earn you points that translate to cash for books, meals, learning trips or a Kindle or iPad.
Invest in your future by giving yourself every advantage, starting now.
