Dr. Van Holland teaches accounting classes and supervises business education student teachers. The first professor to receive the Northwestern Teaching Excellence Award twice, he was the winner in 1988 and 1995. He also received the Outstanding Iowa Postsecondary Business Educator Award from the Iowa Business Education Association, which he served as president in 1997, and won a national academic advising award. Van Holland earned doctoral and master’s degrees in business education from the University of South Dakota, a bachelor’s degree from Augustana College of South Dakota and an associate’s degree from Northwestern Junior College.
