Pre-veterinary medicine
The pre-veterinary medicine program prepares students for entrance into a college of veterinary medicine and an eventual career as a vet. Most veterinary colleges prefer to enroll students who have completed a B.A. degree, but some will accept students after only three years of undergraduate college study. Specific course requirements vary widely among veterinary colleges; therefore, students should target a particular school(s) and design their undergraduate curriculum accordingly. Northwestern’s pre-veterinary medicine course recommendations are designed to prepare students for application to Iowa State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine.
