Off-campus biology study
Au Sable Institute of Environmental Studies
Au Sable Institute includes an academic program for college students that focuses on Christian environmental stewardship. Students can take courses in environmental studies, field biology and ecology in northern Michigan’s forests, or study marine mammals and alpine ecology at the Pacific Rim campus on Puget Sound. Au Sable also has campuses in Florida, East Africa and South India. Au Sable offers a three-week May session and two month-long summer sessions. Fellowships, scholarships and grants are available to help students finance their Au Sable experience.
Creation Care Study Program
The Creation Care Study Program, with campuses in Belize, Central America, and the South Pacific (Samoa and New Zealand), seeks to help students connect their Christian faith with complex, urgent global issues. Students in the four-month program take courses in theology, tropical ecology and sustainable development while exploring tropical rainforests, mountain streams and coral reefs. They also live in Christian communities at Nabitunich (Belize) or Kodesh (South Pacific) and have the opportunity for village home-stays with Belizean and Samoan families.
