Athletic training awards and scholarships
Achievement awards
One student in each of the four Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP) levels may receive an achievement award. Achievement award criteria include:
- A cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher after the fall semester;
- Effort in the clinical experiences that exceeds the expectations of the athletic training staff; and
- Excellent dependability, leadership, teamwork and communication with coaches, athletic training staff and peers.
Achievement awards for all three levels will be determined by the athletic training faculty and staff and presented at the department’s annual spring meeting.
Scholarships
Scholarships for students in ATEP levels two, three and four range from $100 to $1,500. After completing the scholarship application, students will be assigned points that have a corresponding scholarship value. Scholarship applications are available from the clinical coordinator and are due annually by March 1.
Level two scholarship: $100 to $600
Eligible students must maintain a 2.5 GPA and complete clinical rotation requirements to continue receiving the scholarship both semesters.
Level three scholarship: $600 to $1,000
Eligible students must have completed two semesters in the ATEP and all the course work and clinical rotations of level two. Candidates also must maintain a 2.5 GPA and complete clinical rotation requirements to continue receiving the scholarship both semesters.
Level four scholarship: $1,000 to $1,500
Eligible students must have completed all the course work and clinical rotations of level three. Candidates also must maintain a 2.5 GPA and complete clinical rotation requirements to continue receiving the scholarship both semesters.
