The Northwestern wrestling team finished in sixth place out of 13 teams in the Red Raider Invitational. The Raiders finished with 65.5 points, which was the fourth best total of the NAIA schools. Augsburg College, ranked #1 in NCAA D-III, won the team title with 182.5 points. Dickinson State was the top NAIA school and finished a distant second with 133 points. Dana (116), Missouri Valley (96.5) and Wartburg, an NCAA D-III school, also finished in the  top five.

Individually, five Raider grapplers placed in the top five in their respective weight classes. Both Jordan Keckler (133) and Enock Francois (174) earned second place finishes. Keckler fell to Jafari Vanier (Augsburg), 3-6, in the title bout while Francois dropped an overtime decision to Robbie Gotreau (Augsburg), 3-5. Chris Keating recorded a third place finish in the 149-pound weight class and Andrew Lundgren finished in fourth place in the 197-pound class. Levi Price was the final Raider wrestler to reach the medal stand, recording a fifth place finish in the 141-pound division. In one of his matches, Price defeated Brian Graham (Dana), the nation's fourth-ranked wrestler, by fall. Augsburg had the most individual winners with five, while five other schools crowned one individual champion. Terrence Almond from Dana College was voted most outstanding wrestler and placed first in the 141-pound weight class.

The Raiders will next compete against the University of Sioux Falls in a dual on Jan. 24 in Sioux Falls, S.D. The match will begin at 7:00 p.m.
