Women's Golf Team Preps for Regional Meet

MATCHTIME...NAIA Region III Tournament at Oxbow Golf Club, just south of Fargo, N.D., on Monday, April 30. The 36-hole tournament will conclude on Tuesday, May 1.
SCOUTING REPORT...The Raiders are one of seven women's teams competing for the regional title and the automatic berth to the national tournament. The field includes defending champion Dakota Wesleyan, Dickinson State, Morningside, Midland Lutheran, Hastings and Black Hills State.
LAST TIME OUT...In their only spring match, Coach Hoftyzer's squad finished third with a 364 as they hosted the Northwestern Spring Invitational on April 20. Melissa Hisel and Kelsey Shiflett tied for third overall with an 88 and Rachael Koenigsberg carded a 93 and placed 14th.
RED RAIDER NOTES...NWC is led by three-time all-GPAC golfer, Melissa Hisel, who has placed in the top five in four meets this season. She carries an 86.4 scoring average into the regional meet. Kelsey Shiflett is averaging 93.9 strokes per round and has a pair of top five finishes this year while Alison Stutzman is averaging a 94.8. Lisa Horn and Rachael Koenigsberg round out the Red Raider lineup.
