Red Raiders to golf at GPAC meet
|
Oct 11, 2006
The Red Raiders will compete in the GPAC meet in Blair, Neb., at the River Wilds Golf Course Oct. 12-13. Hosted by Dana College, NWC will face not only defending conference champ Dakota Wesleyan, but they will also battle a weather forecast of 49 degrees and winds of 20-30 mph. Still, Coach Harold Hoftyzer believes his squad will rise above the elements. "We have a tough bunch of ladies on our team," he said.
Northwestern finished fourth at the GPAC meet last season, and the Raiders hope to improve upon that performance this year. To advance to regionals, a team must finish in the top five. Aside from stout competition from DWU, the Red Raiders will face a challenge from both Hastings and Midland Lutheran. Hoftyzer expects junior Melissa Hisel, a two-time all-conference pick, to lead NWC.
Complete results will be posted each day on the GPAC Website http://www.gpacsports.com
