Stuart Goslinga (Alta, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to play basketball and baseball at Northwestern College next year.

Goslinga is a 6’7”, 210-pound forward who has lettered one season for Sioux Central High School. He earned first team all-area honors last season as a junior after averaging 21 points, 12 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game. Goslinga helped lead his team to an 11-9 record in 2007-08.

“We are thrilled to have Stuart sign to join us here at Northwestern,” commented Head Coach Kris Korver. “Stuart is a long and athletic post who can run the floor, rebound and defend. He is going to continue to improve as he works and matures. We look forward to investing in Stuart as a student, athlete, teammate and servant leader.”

A two-year letter winner for the Sioux Central baseball team, Goslinga earned first team all-conference and second team all-district honors as a pitcher and first baseman in 2008. He posted a 6-4 record with 91 strikeouts in 57 innings pitched and sported a 2.93 ERA. At the plate, Goslinga hit .363 with 11 doubles and eight home runs. He is the son of Ted and Deanna.

“Stuart is a top-notch pitching recruit for us with a very high ceiling,” commented Head Coach Brian Wede. “He will be a great fit at Northwestern and I look forward to seeing him develop over the course of his career.”
