Northwestern Shutouts Dakota State; Advances to Play Jamestown Friday Night

Dusty Meyn pitches the complete-game shutout in leading the Red Raiders to a 5-0 win over #5 Dakota State in an elimination game at the NAIA Region III baseball championships. Northwestern improves to 35-16 and will now play #3 Jamestown (N.D.) at 7:00 p.m. The Jimmies are 2-0 and the only undefeated team left in the championships.
Offensively, Joe Heitritter went 3-3 with an RBI and Michael Janssen knocked in two runs. Curt Bomgaars added a solo homerun over the left-field wall in the ninth inning.
