San Diego Prep Signs With Northwestern

Mike Zoellner (San Diego, Calif.) has signed a letter of intent to continue his baseball career at Northwestern College next year.
Zoellner is a four year letter winner at St. Augustine High School. He was named All-Eastern League honorable mention after helping St. Augustine to a 23-11 record in 2006. For his four year career Zoellner is a .401 hitter. This season, the left handed P/1B sports a .446 avg, has scored 22 runs, and has driven in 25 RBI, which puts him in the top 20 in all of San Diego. Zoellner currently is 3-2 on the mound for the Saints who are 14-8 and 7-0 in league play. Zoellner, the son of Don and Cindy, is an undecided major.
According to Head Coach Brian Wede, “Mike will come to us with the talent and knowledge to play two positions for us. He will be very competitive on the mound as left handed pitcher and will make us a better offensive club. I expect Mike will have a very productive four year career with the Red Raiders."
