Austin Rozeboom (Sioux Center, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue his football and baseball careers at Northwestern College this fall.
The son of Arlyn and Beth, Rozeboom is a 6’2”, 205-pound linebacker from Sioux Center High School. He earned first team all-district honors after he led his team with 66 tackles last season. A member of the academic all-district team and National Honor Society, Rozeboom plans to major in biology at Northwestern.
Said Head Coach Orv Otten, “Austin is a great addition to our football team. He is athletic and possesses tremendous speed. Austin will be a real asset to our linebacker corp and to our football team.”
A two-time all-Siouxland conference catcher/outfielder for the Warrior baseball team, he has batted .480 with 25 doubles, seven triples and three home runs over the course of his career. He helped lead his team to a 16-7 record and earned second team all-district honors last year.
“Austin is a quality player who comes from a strong high school program,” commented Head Coach Brian Wede. “He will help us in the outfield and with his left-handed bat. We also expect Austin to provide depth at the catcher position. We are very pleased to have Austin join our baseball program.”
