Baseball Team Defeats Cedarville for Seventh Consecutive Victory

The Red Raiders won their seventh game in a row as they defeated Cedarville University (Ohio), 10-0 in five innings, on the fourth day of the Clearwater Christian baseball tournament. Freshman Brad Payne pitched the complete game shutout to pick up his first collegiate win. He allowed three hits, walked one and recorded one strikeout. Offensively, NWC had nine hits, two each by Grant Wall and Jake Jansen. Wall scored three runs and hit a pair of triples and Jansen hit a double and plated three runs.
NWC will play Kenyon College at 9:30 am tomorrow, followed by Grace College at 1:00 pm. If the Raiders can win one of those two games, they will win the Clearwater Christian baseball tournament championship.
