Academic support

Northwestern takes pride in offering a rigorous academic program that will challenge you to think well, communicate clearly and engage the world with intelligence and compassion. You will be stretched academically at Northwestern—but we will provide the resources to help you be successful.

In addition to caring faculty and staff, the academic support department is an important resource available to all students. Academic counseling, individual tutoring and small-group study sessions are among the free services offered to help students achieve their academic goals.

Working closely with faculty, the academic support department’s staff members are committed to helping students develop the skills and learning processes they need to succeed at NWC. The staff promotes interactive teaching and learning, focused on students’ personal goals and individual learning needs, to enable them to take greater responsibility for their own learning.

The academic support department staff also coordinates the academic alert program and arranges accommodations for students with disabilities.
