Pre-professional programs

A number of careers require either graduate study beyond the B.A. degree or other highly specialized study at another institution after one to three years of liberal arts study at Northwestern. Pre-professional programs are clusterings of courses that more directly prepare a student for advanced graduate or other focused study.

Each pre-professional program has a faculty adviser. Students pursuing a pre-professional program should work closely with their adviser as they take courses in their major and the pre-professional program, explore the requirements of various graduate programs to which they intend to apply, and learn about their expected career.
